Internationalization is one of the leading trends in tertiary education around the world, as it adapts to meet the needs of a global, multicultural and highly competitive society. In Latin America and the Caribbean, internationalization has been undertaken without systematic information about its process of implementation. The results of the 1st Regional Survey of Internationalization Trends in Tertiary Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, which are presented in this book, address this need by offering a regional overview that identifies the trends, strengths, risks, obstacles and limitations of the internationalization process in the region.
