»  The "Global Dialogue" Initiative on new paradigms for internationalization

In 2011, a global debate began on the future of the internationalization of tertiary education. The United States, Australia and Europe, as well as nations with emerging economies, reached the conclusion that the changes produced by the geopolitical reorganization of the world impact present internationalization practices, especially for emerging and developing countries. Therefore, the objective of this initiative is to discuss a new agenda for the future of internationalization of tertiary education and to contribute to the building up of a more inclusive and solidary society.

Characterize the reasons why Latin American undergraduate students decide whether, or not, to undertake an international academic stay. This study has two units of analysis: students profile and institutional strategies for student mobility.

A project conducted in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Madrid that aims to analyze differences of opinion among international students in accordance with variables such as gender, age, educational level, country of origin and destination, university of origin and destination, and duration of the stay, among others.

»  Internationalization of research: The impact of international collaboration on the production of knowledge in LAC

In recent decades, knowledge and its application have become the factor that fosters national economic performance and competitiveness. One of the characteristics of the evolution of knowledge production is the transition from individually-based research to collaborative research teams (Sebastián, 2004). Given the importance of collaboration in the production of knowledge, it is relevant to analyze the characteristics of the regional context in this regard.
